PSA: My 10 minute tire patch job turned into a 3 hour ordeal last Saturday

I had a nail in my tire and figured I'd patch it quick, but the plug kit failed and I ended up googling how to remove a stuck valve core at 2pm in my driveway.

Those stuck valve cores will get you every time." I remember buying one of those cheap patch kits and spending an hour trying to get the rubber plug to seal right before giving up and just driving to the tire shop.

and honestly that's kind of how everything is these days, right? like you try the cheap fix first thinking you're saving time and money but it just ends up wasting more of both. i swear it's the same with so many little household fixes too. you buy the budget version of something and it fails twice as fast, then you're back at the store or calling someone to fix it anyway. has that been your experience with other stuff or just tires?
