The exit ramp debate that got me thinking about map apps

Was sitting in traffic on I-5 last week, 45 minutes just to move 3 miles, and this guy in a pickup next to me was yelling at his phone about how the app kept telling him to take the 4th Street exit. It got me remembering when I used to print MapQuest directions and just trust them, no second guessing, even when they dropped me in a dead end. Now we all argue with our GPS like it's a person with opinions, and I wonder if we actually drive worse because we're too busy doubting the route. Anyone else find themselves missing the days when getting lost was just part of the trip, not a reason to scream at a screen?

Man, that traffic story hits hard. I get exactly where you're coming from, sometimes I just turn off the voice and drive until my gut says turn.
