Chose to save a burnt pot over buying a new one - made a mess of things
Last Tuesday I had to pick between scrubbing my charred spaghetti pot for an hour or just tossing it and ordering takeout. I went with scrubbing and ended up with black gunk all over my sink and a scratched up pot that still smells like burnt tomato. Has anyone else tried one of those restaurant supply soak cleaners and actually had it work on a burnt pan?

Scrubbing that long usually makes the smell worse, not better.

Bet you could've saved time by using a dryer sheet and hot water to soak that burnt crap off, works way better than any store bought cleaner. That smell's never coming out though, that pan's haunted.
