My stovetop popcorn went from fluffy to charcoal in like 45 seconds flat

I left the burner on high thinking I had plenty of time, then suddenly the smoke alarm was screaming and the whole batch was black. Anyone else have a snack go from fine to ruined faster than you can blink?

Same here. Really kicked myself after that one. My brain just sort of skipped over the warning signs because I was in such a hurry to get it done. The cleanup took three times as long as the original job. Still catch myself cringing about it when I'm driving home.
