Found out my cast iron skillet is older than my grandma, after 6 ruined dinners
I was scrubbing a burnt-on mess off my old Lodge pan last Tuesday and noticed the markings on the bottom. Looked it up online, turns out the raised letter style means it was made sometime between 1930 and 1945. So I've been abusing a pre-war relic with metal spatulas and soap like it's a cheap nonstick pan. Has anyone else accidentally discovered they've been ruining something valuable for years before realizing what it was?
