So I burned 100 pancakes in a row this morning

I was trying to make a big batch for a family brunch and I hit exactly 100 burnt ones when I lost count. The smoke alarm went off after the 50th one and I just kept going because I thought I could fix it. Has anyone else ever hit a weird milestone like that where you just keep ruining things?

100 pancakes, dude. That's impressive in a tragic sort of way, you know? I once made 30 burnt grilled cheeses because I thought the toaster oven would magically start working if I just kept trying.

Argue that 100 pancakes is actually a bigger failure than 30 burnt grilled cheeses. At least with the grilled cheeses you kept the faith alive longer, which is its own kind of victory. But 100 pancakes shows you had plenty of chances to learn and just kept making the same mistake over and over.
