The statistic about burnt toast that made me feel better about myself
I read online that about 30% of household kitchen fires start from unattended cooking, mostly toast and frying. After I set off my smoke detector three times in one morning last week burning bagels, I guess I'm not alone. Anybody else find comfort in knowing they're part of a statistic rather than just clumsy?

Honestly I used to think burning toast was just a me problem. Like I was the only one who couldn't handle a simple breakfast without setting off alarms. But seeing that stat actually made me feel way better about myself. Now I just laugh it off when my bagel gets too crispy and the smoke detector starts screaming. Turns out half the country is probably doing the same thing every morning.
