Vent: bought a $7 oven thermometer after 2 ruined frozen pizzas, now I'm questioning everything
For 4 years I trusted the dial on my oven. Two pizzas came out black on the bottom and raw on top last week in my apartment in Reno, so I finally grabbed a $7 oven thermometer. The dial says 400 but the real temp swings between 340 and 460, which explains a lot of my burnt bake sales. Part of me says a cheap oven just does that and I should learn to live with it, the other part says I should have bought the thermometer on day one instead of wasting money on frozen food. Anyone else find out their oven was lying the whole time, or did your fix end up being something else?
