Warning: Don't try to deep fry a frozen turkey unless you know what you're doing
Last Thanksgiving I thought I could wing it with a 12 pound frozen bird in my backyard fryer. I dropped it in the oil and it erupted like a volcano, hot oil went everywhere. My neighbor's dog started barking and I had to jump back to avoid getting splashed. The turkey was a blackened mess and the oil ruined my patio bricks. Has anyone else had a close call with a turkey fryer or am I just the unluckiest guy in the county?

Man thats a wild story and honestly its just part of a bigger thing I see everywhere. People think they can skip the basics because they've watched a YouTube video or read one article. Its like everyone wants to be an expert right away without putting in the grunt work first. I see it with cooking, fixing cars, even people trying to build their own furniture from scratch. The internet makes things look easy so nobody bothers to read the actual instructions or take the safety warnings seriously. You're not unlucky, you just learned the hard way like a lot of us do. The real trick is admitting you don't know something and taking the time to learn it right before you jump in.

Right lmao my friend tried to hang a shelf after watching one TikTok and it collapsed on their TV. People really need to slow down and accept they're beginners first.
