Wasted $80 on that expensive non-stick pan set from the home show last month

I went to that home and garden expo at the convention center and got suckered into buying a set of these non-stick pans from a vendor. They claimed they were scratch proof and would last 10 years. First use I made scrambled eggs and they stuck like crazy. By the third week the coating started flaking off into my food. I should have known better since I fix commercial kitchen hoods for a living and see cheap cookware all the time. My old cast iron skillet from a garage sale for $5 still works perfect. Has anyone else gotten burned by those flashy vendor demos at expos?

My buddy got conned into buying some "titanium infused" pans from one of those booth guys. He was so proud of them until his girlfriend made tomato sauce and the whole coating peeled off like a bad sunburn. They looked like a science experiment gone wrong after a month.

I mean it's wild how those demo guys make it look so perfect under those bright lights. They always have some trick like using way too much oil or cooking something that's already greasy so nothing sticks. My sister fell for a similar thing with these copper pans, she was so excited until the copper started rubbing off on her hands after like two weeks.
