Broke my favorite boning knife on a pork shoulder yesterday

I was breaking down a case of pork shoulders yesterday afternoon and my old 6-inch curved boning knife just snapped at the handle. It was a Forschner I'd had for about 7 years, the blade was worn down to almost nothing anyway. Had to finish the whole case with my chef knife and it took twice as long. Anyone got a recommendation for a replacement that won't break the bank?

Stone the tip regularly and that knife will outlive you.

Bought a Victorinox Fibrox a few years back after my old Wusthof broke. Its not fancy but it gets the job done for about 30 bucks. A buddy of mine swears by Dexter Russell, says the handle shape is better for his big hands. I stuck with the Fibrox because I know the steel holds up well with regular sharpening. Seven years on a Forschner sounds about right for heavy use, especially if you were breaking down whole cases. Just dont expect the Fibrox to feel as nice in hand, its all function over form.
