Noticing less chatter between cuts these days

Back when I started, the whole crew would banter while breaking down sides. Now everyone has headphones in, focused on their own stations. We used to swap tricks for trimming fat, but that casual teaching seems gone. Do you think we've lost something with less talk on the floor?

It's so quiet now you could hear a pin drop (between headphone beats). @mitchell.lee isn't wrong about missing the old banter.

Man, I feel that. The casual learning was half the job.

Right? The best tricks always came from some offhand comment over coffee. You'd pick up a keyboard shortcut just listening to someone complain about their workflow, or hear about a new tool because someone was venting about a bug. Now it's just quiet, and you have to go look everything up yourself.
