Paid $350 for a disability consult in Sacramento and it saved me from a $6k mistake
I sat on my long term disability claim for 4 months thinking I could handle the appeal paperwork myself. A friend pushed me to pay $350 for a one hour consult with a lawyer off Capitol Mall, and he spotted that my insurer's denial letter had the wrong occupational definition in it. That one detail would have killed my appeal if I'd filed it the way I planned. Anyone else get pushed toward a paid consult before filing, or did you just send it in and hope?
