Spent $2,500 on a fancy disability lawyer in LA and he missed the filing deadline

Paid that big retainer fee to a Beverly Hills firm for my SSDI case and they submitted my paperwork three days late, now I'm back to square one waiting six more months, has anyone else had a lawyer blow a deadline like that?

That lawyer charge that much and still messed up something that basic? Did you ask them if they're gonna refund any of that retainer since they're the ones who dropped the ball?

I mean, I get that lawyers have to get paid for their time, but if they're the ones who messed up the basic paperwork, that's on them, not you. You'd think they'd at least offer to waive the fee for the correction or knock something off the retainer. Honestly, that kind of attitude would make me wonder if I should find a different lawyer altogether.
