The shift I've seen in how SSA treats telehealth mental health records
I noticed a big change around mid-2023 in how judges look at therapy notes from places like Kaiser or BetterHelp. Before, they seemed to give more weight to in-person visits, but now I'm seeing approvals based almost entirely on consistent telehealth records. One client of mine won her case last month after her therapist from a clinic in Fresno submitted 18 months of video session notes. Has anyone else noticed this shift making it easier or harder to build a case?

Seems like the judges finally realized people can be just as anxious on Zoom as in person. My neighbor got approved last year based mostly on phone sessions from his therapist.

Wait... phone sessions? Like just talking on the phone, not even video? That's wild to me. I thought the whole point was they had to see your face to judge your condition. My cousin got denied twice even though he had actual in-person doctor notes from like 4 years of treatment. So they're approving people based on phone calls now but denying folks with real medical records? That's just... ugh. Makes no sense honestly.

I guess my anxiety's so obvious they can hear it through the phone (which honestly tracks with my life).
