A finisher told me my cabinet doors looked 'store bought' and it stung more than I expected
I posted pics of a maple kitchen I built in my garage in Toledo, and a finisher named Ray commented that my sanding was fine but the stain looked flat and sprayed on. He said to try popping the grain with a wet rag and 220 grit, then use a gel stain and wipe it back with a rag on a 4x4 test board first. I did that on 3 doors and the depth was night and day. Anybody got a favorite gel stain brand that doesn't dry too fast in summer?
