Client told me my drawer slides were too loud - changed my whole approach

I had a customer in Portland last month who complained that even my soft-close undermounts sounded like a crash in her quiet kitchen. She suggested I try the Accuride 3832 series with their silencer mechanism, and honestly I was skeptical at first. But after swapping them on her job, the difference is wild - way smoother and almost silent. Has anyone else had to switch brands just because a client nitpicked the noise?

Had a job out in Beaverton last year where the homeowner stood in the kitchen and made me close a drawer ten times before he said it was acceptable. He wasn't rude about it, just real particular. I switched to Accuride too after that and never looked back. Sometimes you just gotta admit a customer is right about the small stuff. It's annoying in the moment but it's saved me headaches on later jobs.

Damn right man. I've had that exact thing happen with a client in Tigard who couldn't stand the clunk from standard ball bearing slides. She made me swap 'em out for the same Accurides you mentioned and I'll be honest, it was worth it. Now I just start with those on any kitchen job where the homeowner seems like the type to notice stuff. You learn real fast that a quiet slide makes the whole cabinet feel way more expensive, and it shuts up any future complaints before they start. Honestly, it's a cheap fix compared to the headache of going back to swap hardware later.
