CNC cut vs hand dovetails, after a 14 drawer job

Ran a 14 drawer job last month and let the CNC do the dovetails to save time. Customer complained about the gaps before I even got the finish on, had to rebuild 3 drawers by hand. For tight work under $2k I'm going back to hand cut every time, anyone else find CNC joints just don't hold up to scrutiny?

Man, I hate to say it but that sounds more like a setup or bit issue than the CNC method itself. I've seen plenty of tight machine dovetails, they just need the right tooling and a test cut before you commit to the whole job. Hand cut is great for sure, but maybe the real fix is dialing in your offsets instead of ditching the machine altogether.
