Hot take: staring at the drawers in an old courthouse taught me more than any video
Stopped by the Whitley County courthouse up in Columbia City on a Tuesday to drop off some paperwork, and ended up standing in the hallway for 20 minutes just looking at the built-ins. The place went up around 1888 and somebody back then hand cut about 60 drawer fronts, and the grain lines up across the whole run like a single board. Mine never line up that clean, so I went back to the shop and started picking my fronts off one long rip instead of cutting each one separate. Took me 3 tries on a test run of 8 drawers to get the sequence right, but the batch I finished Friday finally has that same flow. I'm not saying I'm anywhere near that old work, but it is a cheap way to get better. Any of you all cut your fronts in sequence like that, or do you just sort through the pile until it looks decent?
