Just hit 500 dovetail joints by hand...
I've been counting every one for the past three years and crossing 500 last week felt bigger than any commission check I've gotten. Anyone else track random little milestones like that or just me?

That's just counting cuts, not skill. Any hobbyist with enough time can crank out 500 joints, the real milestone is the first 5 that actually fit tight without gaps. Nobody cares about volume when the rest of us are busy getting paid for precision work.

Isn't counting those little benchmarks just how you actually measure real growth though? The precision comes from repetition and doing a thing over and over until your hands just know where to go. Five hundred joints means five hundred chances to learn something new or fix what was off before, and that's worth tracking no matter how you slice it.
