Just realized my dovetails went from ugly to clean in 3 months, and it was one small thing
I was cleaning out my phone and found pics from a drawer I built back in April. The pins were chipped, the gaps were huge, and I was embarrassed to hand it over. Then last week I did a set for a kitchen in Aurora and it looked like a different guy built it. The only thing I changed was slowing way down on the baseline cut and using a marking knife instead of a pencil. Took me from like 30 percent reject rate to maybe 5 percent. Now I'm wondering if the pencil vs knife thing is really the whole story or if I just finally got the muscle memory. What did you guys change that made your joinery jump up a level?
