Spent two hours yesterday fighting a cabinet door that wouldn't hang right
I had this one upper cabinet door that just would not sit flush no matter what I did. Turns out the European hinge cup was drilled about 1/16th of an inch too shallow on the first try. After adjusting the screws for 45 minutes I finally realized I needed to take the door off and recut the cup depth. It took me almost 3 hours total for one door. Has anyone else had a hinge issue that just ate up your whole afternoon?

Turns out the European hinge cup was drilled about 1/16th of an inch too shallow" - oh man, that reminds me of my first time trying to hang a bathroom cabinet. I didn't even know those hinges had a cup that needed to be a certain depth. I just kept tightening the screws and wondering why the door was popping open on its own. My husband walked in and just stared at me for a solid 10 seconds before saying anything.

Oh man I feel your pain. I spent a whole Saturday once trying to fix a soft close drawer that just would not stay shut. Turns out the bracket was mounted like a millimeter too high on one side and it was throwing everything off. My back hurt so bad from leaning into that cabinet I almost just gave up and left it. Sometimes the smallest little mistake can eat up your whole day.

Don't you just love how those tiny measurement issues seem personal sometimes? I had a similar thing with a kitchen island I was installing, where the drawer front was rubbing on one side because the whole thing was like a hair out of square. Ended up shimming it with a piece of a business card at 11pm on a Tuesday (that's a good look).
