Switched to prefinished plywood after 12 years of fighting with stain

I saw a guy from a shop down in Nashville slap together a whole kitchen in two days without sanding once and realized I'd been wasting my time on raw Baltic birch that never took stain evenly anyway, so what's your go-to source for prefinished panels?

Buddy of mine grabbed a pallet of prefinished maple from a guy liquidating a failed cabinet shop outside Knoxville. Paid sixty bucks a sheet and the stuff was still wrapped in plastic with the factory seal. Only catch was he had to rent a U-Haul and drive two hours to pick it up, but he said it was worth every mile.
