TIL you can use a cheap laser level to check cabinet alignment before the glue dries
Last month I was installing a run of upper cabinets in a kitchen remodel in Tacoma. I had them all clamped up but something felt off. My helper grabbed a $30 laser level from his truck and we shot a line across the front edges. Sure enough, one cabinet was sitting about 1/8" proud of the others. We caught it before the glue set. Has anyone else found a simple tool that saved a big headache like that?

Oh man, that's the kind of trick you only learn after a disaster... glad you dodged that one.

My old boss used to say a five dollar torpedo level was worth more than a five hundred dollar saw if you used it right. He'd check every door frame for plumb before hanging, saved us from so many callbacks. That habit stuck with me more than any fancy tool talk.

Honestly it's wild how the simplest tools can fix the biggest problems. Tbh I see that everywhere now, like using a paper clip to reset electronics instead of some fancy kit.
