Got stuck on a simple CAT6 run for 3 hours yesterday
I had to fish a line through a finished basement ceiling for a new outlet. The first bay was wide open but the second one had a solid fire block I didn't see. Took me 3 hours and a flex bit to get through it. Has anyone else hit surprise blocking that turned a quick job into an all day thing?

Call me crazy but 3 hours for a CAT6 run is normal for any house that's already finished. That's just how it goes sometimes.

The flex bit is a lifesaver but I've learned to always run a fish tape or glow rod through that first bay BEFORE I start cutting. Saves me a headache when I spot the blocking early.
