I switched from a standard drill to a right-angle drill for crawl spaces and it's a game changer.

I used to fight with my old DeWalt drill in tight spots under houses in Portland, always scraping my knuckles. The Milwaukee right-angle drill, even though it's a bit heavier, lets me drill joists without contorting my whole arm. Has anyone else made a similar switch for attic or crawl space work?

What brand of right angle drill did you go with? I tried a cheaper one first and the chuck kept coming loose, total waste of time. Ended up with a Bosch that has a really low profile head, it fits next to plumbing runs without a fuss.

Right angle drills are a must for old houses with tight joist bays. I keep a short auger bit in mine just for running wire through floor joists. The head size is key, some are too bulky to fit next to a pipe. What length bits do you find work best in those tight spots?

Man, that's so true. It's funny how often the right tool for a tight space just makes everything flow better. I see it with kitchen gadgets and even phone chargers, not just drills.
