Just proved my skepticism wrong about those cheap coax strippers

I always swore by my Klein tools and laughed at the $8 no-name strippers from Amazon. After 3 months of daily use on a big apartment complex job in Phoenix, that cheap one still hasn't broken or dulled. Anyone else had a budget tool surprise them?

My dad swore by his high-end tools for 30 years then tried a $6 gas station multimeter that ended up being more reliable than his Fluke lol. @the_nathan that gas station tape measure thing got me thinking maybe we all just get hypnotized by the brand names.

Oh man I had the SAME thing happen with a set of $12 wire strippers from some random brand called Haisstronica or something like that. I bought them as a joke basically to throw in my truck bag as a backup. Three months later my Kleins are sitting in the drawer and Im grabbing those cheap ones every time. The little adjustment knob on them actually works better than my Kleins ever did for different wire gauges. I even got my foreman to try them and he ordered his own set that night. It really makes you wonder how much of that "pro level" pricing is just brand tax.

I had the same thing happen with a cheap tape measure I grabbed at the gas station counter last year @robertb47. The thing is still going strong and way more accurate than the fancy Milwaukee one I paid triple for. Now I just keep buying junk stuff to see what surprises me.
