Just realized a house in my old neighborhood still has a 30 foot pole line drop from the 80s

I drove past a job on Maple Street and saw the old RG-59 line still hanging from the pole to the roof... it's been there since before I was born. How do you guys handle telling a customer their whole outside line needs a full re-run from the tap?

Watched my buddy explain it to a guy last month. He just pointed at the cracked, faded cable and said "See this? It's older than your truck." Had to run a whole new line from the pole, took all afternoon.

Sometimes old lines are fine if they're maintained right, lol.

Wow, older than his truck? That's crazy... I've seen some rough lines in my time but that's a whole other level of neglect. @graydavis I guess "maintained right" is doing a lot of heavy lifting there.
