Rant: spent 2 hours at a house in Dearborn chasing a signal leak that turned out to be a chewed up wall plate
Pulled up to this 1950s bungalow on Wednesday, old lady said her internet kept dropping every time it rained. I reterminated both ends of the drop twice, swept the line with my meter, swapped the splitter, even ran a temporary feed from the pedestal. Turned out the original installer stapled the coax so tight behind the plate that the shield was touching the stinger, and a little water in the wall was shorting it out. Anyone else seeing these older homes where the original rg6 job was just plain lazy?
