Pull up a batt to find a beam right where you need to step, lol. You're suddenly doing this weird slow-motion dance, trying to shuffle across joists without putting a foot through the ceiling. Then there's the classic moment you finally get to the far corner just to find a huge nest of old wiring blocking the whole area. It's never just a simple lay-it-down job.

@oscarc53, your attic story is so typical! Every DIY job seems to have hidden problems waiting to ruin your plan. I remember hitting a metal plate while hanging a picture last week, which totally messed up my afternoon. It never goes as simple as you hope!
