Talking to my neighbor's kid about my job changed how I see it

Honestly, I was just grumbling about a long day running lines in some tight attic in the July heat. This 12 year old from down the street was watching me pack my van and asked if I got to see inside everyone's house. I said yeah, sure. Then he goes, 'So you're the one who makes the internet and TV work? That's like being a superhero for houses.' Ngl, it hit different. I've been doing this for 8 years and just think about the mess and the complaints. But he's right. We're the reason people can work from home, kids can do school, and families can watch a movie together. I don't feel like a superhero, but maybe I should stop acting like the bad guy when I have to drill a hole. Anyone else ever get a weird comment that made you proud of the job?
