Got hit with a $489 ticket at the Alameda County courthouse because I parked in the juror lot without the sticker
I showed up for jury duty last Tuesday at the courthouse on Fallon Street and the lot attendant waved me into the juror section, so I figured I was fine. Turns out you need the yellow placard they mail you, and mine never came, so a sheriff's deputy wrote me a $489 citation before I even made it through security. Has anyone fought one of these and actually won, or do I just eat the cost?

That really sucks, getting waved in and then hit with a ticket anyway feels like a total setup. From what I've heard you can fight it by showing the placard never showed up, so it might be worth calling the court clerk before you just pay.
