Finally fixed a sticky aperture blade on an old Pentax after 3 tries
I've been fighting this Pentax 50mm f/1.4 from a thrift store for a week. First attempt I just used lighter fluid and it worked for maybe 10 shots before sticking again. Second try I took the whole blade assembly apart and cleaned each piece with contact cleaner, but I put one blade in backwards and it jammed worse. Yesterday I sat down in my garage with a magnifier lamp and re-seated every blade one by one, using a tiny drop of watch oil on the pivot points. It's been through about 200 actuations since and the aperture snaps closed every time. Anyone else have a lens that took way more patience than expected?

Don't oil those pivots, man... that's just gonna attract dust and turn into grit later.
