Had a guy bring in a Nikon F3 from the 80s last Tuesday with a shutter that sounded like a dying cat

He said he dropped it off his motorcycle doing 45mph on a gravel road and five years later it still had film in it, so does anyone else get customers who treat cameras like they're indestructible?

Dude probably left a pack of smokes in there too and they're still fine. Nikon made those things like tanks back then, shutter curtains could stop a bullet maybe. People beat gear to death and expect it to work, that's just how it goes.

Remember when people would send their Nikons in for a CLA and they'd come back basically like new? Are those old repair shops even around anymore or did they all vanish when digital hit?
