My old Graflex shutter finally gave out on a job in Cleveland
Picked up a 1940s Graflex for a portrait session last Tuesday, and the shutter started dragging halfway through the shoot, every exposure coming out half dark. Tore it down in my shop that night and found the brake spring had snapped clean off, a part I haven't seen in stock anywhere since 2019. Anyone else run into these old leaf shutters where you end up fabricating your own parts just to keep them alive?
