Pro tip: that 'always replace the light seals' advice cost me a customer
A guy came into my shop on a Tuesday with his dad's old rangefinder and asked me to do a full reseal before his daughter's wedding that weekend. I told him the seals were fine and just cleaned the film gate, and he got quiet because some forum regular in a Facebook group had told him any foam older than 10 years is junk. So my question is this: how many of you actually test seal condition before quoting a reseal, or do you just swap them because it is easy money?
