That $60 lens cleaning kit that stripped the coating off my 50mm
Bought a cheap kit off an auction site last month, it came with this mystery fluid that ate through the multi-coating in about 90 seconds. Has anyone else gotten burned by generic cleaning solutions, or is there a decent budget brand that actually works?

So did the kit come with a tiny bottle of paint thinner or what? That mystery fluid sounds like it was made for stripping furniture, not glass, and honestly those no-name kits are playing roulette with your gear. Next time just grab a microfiber cloth and some plain lens solution from a real camera store, it costs less than a new lens.
