Vent: Spotting a good lens in the dumpster makes me furious.
Reusing it could save a camera and cut down on waste.

People forget how much energy goes into making a single camera lens. Mining the glass, shaping it, coating it, all that work thrown away. If more folks knew about repair cafes or local camera shops that fix old gear, maybe less would end up in trash. We're too quick to replace things instead of learning how to maintain them. That lens could teach someone about photography or start a new hobby. It's a shame to see that potential wasted.

Fix it and the pride lasts way longer than buying new!

Saw a perfectly good PS3 in a recycle bin once, cables and everything. Fished it out, cleaned it up, and it still works fine. Just makes you wonder what else gets tossed that could have a second life.
