Watching a 1980s Nikon F3 shutter curtain after a month of sitting in a dry box

The curtain's bounce and timing were completely off compared to the day it came in, all from the foam light seal degrading just a bit more. Has anyone else seen a camera's condition shift that much from simple storage?

Check the foam around the mirror box too. That stuff can turn to sticky goo and really mess with the mirror's action. Did you notice any residue on the curtain itself when you opened it up?

That goo can gum up the shutter blades too, right?

Actually, the foam light seals don't touch the curtain's timing.
