Appreciation post: that cheap Coleman camp stove I got at a yard sale
I see everyone hyping these $300 stoves online, but I picked up a used Coleman two-burner for $12 three years ago and it still works perfectly. Found out from a blog called "Camping Made Simple" that those old green stoves have a fuel regulator that's actually more reliable than most new ones. Anybody else still using old gear instead of upgrading?

Man, that's the truth. I'm right there with you on the "more reliable than most new ones" part. I've got an old Coleman from the 90s that I found at my dad's place, and that thing still fires up on the first try every single time. New stuff is plastic and breaks, but those old green stoves are built like tanks. You got a steal for $12, good for you.

Twelve bucks? You snagged an old green Coleman for twelve dollars? Man, that is highway robbery in the best way possible. Those things go for fifty or sixty at a flea market around here, and people still buy them up. I saw a beat up one at a garage sale last summer for forty and it sold in an hour. You basically stole it.

Right? $12 is a steal and a half. I half expect the guy to come knocking on my door asking for it back when he realizes what he did. I'd probably have to pretend I don't speak English or something. My grandpa would roll over in his grave if he saw someone let one go that cheap. He babied his old green one like it was a classic car.
