DAE notice their camp stove went from sketchy to rock solid with one $3 part swap?
My old two burner stove at a campsite near Bend, OR kept dying on low flame whenever the wind picked up. Swapped the worn out rubber gasket for a $3 one and the difference in the flame was night and day, it held a steady blue circle even with gusts. I'm no gear expert so I'm wondering if this is a known fix or if I just got lucky. Anyone else deal with a lazy burner and find a cheap fix that shocked them?
Wait, a $3 gasket fixed a flame that was dying in Bend wind? That seems almost too cheap to believe honestly, since most folks would just buy a whole new stove. I always figured that lazy flame thing meant the regulator or the burner itself was shot, not a worn rubber ring. Guess I've been tossing out good gear for no reason.
