Finally compared my old coleman stove to a cheap butane burner I picked up for 20 bucks
I've been using my old coleman two burner for years. It works fine but it's huge to haul around. Last month I grabbed a little butane stove from walmart for 20 bucks to try out on a solo trip. The butane one boiled water in half the time and fits in a backpack pocket. I'm probably switching over for shorter trips now. Anyone else made the jump from a big camp stove to a single burner?

Jokes on me, I tripped over my coleman and now it's my "permanent" camp stove.

Nah, that's not a mistake. That's a feature. You just created a permanent cooking station. No more hauling that thing in and out of the trunk every trip. Never have to worry about leveling it again. Just build your whole camp routine around that one spot. It's the centerpiece now. Way more organized than my setup where I'm always hunting for the propane tank.

Wait wait wait. You tripped over your coleman and now it's a permanent camp stove? Like it's stuck at that spot? That is the most ridiculous thing I've heard all week and I love it. Did it just fall over and you're like "well, this is my life now"? At least it's a solid stove that won't roll away. Honestly I can picture someone just leaving it there and pitching their tent around it. That's commitment to a campsite layout.
