Finally got my old Whisperlite stove to work after it sat in my garage for 3 years

Cleaned the fuel line with a needle and took it on a trip to the Sawtooths last week, and it boiled water faster than my buddy's new canister stove.

Reminds me of my friend who dug his old Optimus Nova out of a closet. Thing looked like a lost cause, all gummed up with old fuel. He soaked the pump cup in oil for a day and it fired right up, ran perfectly on a week-long canoe trip.

Wow, that's wild! I read somewhere that old white gas stoves are basically indestructible if you clean the fuel system.
