Finally got my tent poles to fit right after 3 years of struggle

Last week in Shenandoah, I set up my old 4-person tent and for the first time the poles clicked together without me fighting them for 15 minutes. It took me 3 years to realize I was pushing them in at the wrong angle. My buddy Matt pointed it out when he saw me cursing at the rainfly last month. Now I can get the whole thing up in under 10 minutes flat. Has anyone else figured out a small trick that makes camping gear way less annoying?

Dude, same thing happened to me with my camp stove after three years of fighting it!

Took me four years to figure out my camp stove wasn't broken, I just needed to hold the propane canister at a certain angle while screwing it in. I was basically cussing out a perfectly good stove every time I went camping until my brother watched me do it and fixed it in five seconds. Makes you feel real smart when someone shows you something that simple that you missed for years.
