Hot take: that $90 ultralight camp pillow was the worst gear buy I've made
Bought one of those tiny inflatable pillows back in 2021 for a trip up near Bend and it lasted two nights before the valve started leaking at 2am. Spent the rest of the trip sleeping on a rolled up hoodie and honestly slept better. Looking back at all the fancy stuff I lugged around in my twenties, the cheap foam pad and an old Coleman stove did more for me than half the light gear I chased. What's the one piece of gear you regret buying, and did you ever go back to the basic version?
