I bought a fancy solar lantern and it was a total letdown
I got the LuminAid PackLite Max for a trip to the Red River Gorge last fall, thinking it would be great for ambient light at the campsite. It charged fine in the sun, but after about two hours of use on the lowest setting, it just got super dim and basically useless. I ended up using my headlamp the whole time and felt like I wasted the $40. Has anyone found a solar lantern that actually holds up for a full evening?

Actually, that's the normal battery life for those.

Manufacturers often set low expectations so you're happy with less.

Wait, so @sean782, you're saying I've been wrong about battery life this whole time?
