Pro tip: that $8 foam sleeping pad from the hardware store beat my $60 one
I grabbed a cheap blue foam pad at the Ace in Flagstaff 6 months ago just to have a spare for my kid, and I've ended up sleeping on it more than my fancy inflatable. It's 3/4 inch thick, cheap enough to not care if it gets wrecked, and I've never once woken up on the ground from a slow leak at 2am. My air pad cost over $60 and has already been patched twice. So now I'm wondering if I'm the only one who went cheap and stayed cheap, what's the pad you actually reach for when you pack?
