That $200 knockoff lantern died on night two, bring the old one instead
I grabbed a no-name LED lantern off an auction site for $200, thought I was getting a steal because the brand name version runs $400. First night it was fine, bright as advertised. Second night in a drizzle near Lake Chelan, it started flickering and then just quit. I tore it apart on the picnic table, the battery contacts were corroded and the switch was full of water. My $40 Coleman from 2016 has survived worse weather for years. I basically paid $200 to learn that cheap gear fails at the worst possible time. Anyone else had a budget item totally crap out on a trip and had to fall back on old gear?
