The ridge wind at Glacier Point taught me my tarp game was weak

Last June I set up my 8x10 silpoly tarp at Glacier Point and the gusts folded the whole thing like paper. I had the corners staked at 45 degrees but the wind came straight down the ridge and ripped two stakes right out. After that trip I bought a set of MSR Ground Hog stakes and started doing a proper taut line hitch on every corner. Anyone else run into wind that just makes you redo your whole shelter setup on the spot?

That "tarp game was weak" line hits. Sounds like the same pattern I see everywhere, people get comfortable with their gear until nature reminds them who's actually in charge. Good on you for ditching the cheap stakes, that's usually a lesson learned once.
