The sleeping bag weight spec that had me double checking my scale
I was looking at a new 3-season bag last week, and the tag said 2.4 pounds. Then I read the fine print on the manufacturer's site, and that weight was for the stuff sack only, not the bag itself. The actual bag was 3.1 pounds, which is a pretty big difference when you're carrying it for 8 miles in the Sierras. Has anyone else caught a spec like that hiding in the footnotes?

That 2.4 pounds on the tag makes me wonder if you were looking at two different bags. I have seen where the manufacturer lists the bag weight and then separately lists the sack weight, but the tag should have both. Maybe the store put the wrong tag on it, or you caught a typo on their site. I have weighed a few bags over the years and the tag weight is usually close to what the scale says, within a few ounces. If the difference was really that big, I would call the company before trusting any of their other numbers.
